MANORO by Brilliante Mendoza

In this drama inspired by actual events, 13-year old Jonalyn has just finished grade school and is eager to put her knowledge to good use. When she learns that an upcoming election will choose the nation’s new leader, she encourages the adults in her village to vote. However, she discovers that most of them can’t read a ballot and have no idea how the voting process works. With the election only a few days away, Jonalyn organizes a crash course to teach the grown-ups in her community how to take part in the democratic process.
